once we moved to Bainbridge Island, i knew i would want to spend more time woodworking, so i started taking more classes in preparation and i also started purchasing tools.

but, right down the street is this cool “cooperative” called Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network, BARN. they have all sorts of workshops for woodworking, culinary arts, glass works, metal works… and i visited and became a member. the wood shop is nicely outfitted with mostly donated tools such as saws, lathes, sanders, routers, band saws, workbenches, all sorts of hand tools, and then some.

i’ve been going a few times a week, when there is an open studio time that fits into my schedule. i’ll be making things there and occasionally posting about them.
